Medicare Savings Programs (QMB, SLMB, QI)
The state pays your part b premium — $203 a month — and qmb pays more. This page explains who looks likely to qualify and how to apply — it does not decide, and we never file for you.
Who looks likely to qualify
Three programs, run in Florida by the Department of Children and Families. QMB (at about 100% of the poverty guideline) pays your Part A and B premiums and your Medicare cost-sharing; SLMB and QI (up to about 120% and 135%) pay the monthly Part B premium. They use the same SSA countable-income method as Extra Help, and being approved for any of them brings Extra Help automatically.
